Just got back from doing the deal and I will go pick it up next week after I transfer the title and finish babysitting Steverino.

We are now the proud owners of 1 each 1980 Vespa P200E, with all original documentation, even the sales brochure from the dealer, a Vespa shop manual, plus two other shop manuals, all from the original owner. 15063 miles on it and also included an extra rim, some tires and tubes, a new exhaust system, cables and other goodies.

Couldn't ride it, but I did finally start her up. Screw that new Vespa I rode, this one shifts and has a clutch.

Now to name her.

The top case will need to go and it also set up for a 2M rig. Going to be a fun winter project.

Nice toy. If you need to stay home and take care of it I can handle getting the GS. Just a ride to Asheville and back.

I have no interest in getting it this weekend. I'm loading up my GeePeeEss now. Gonna get up, eat sauerkraut and oatmeal, go to work, piss everybody off, fart alot and then they will ask me to leave so I can get out before rush hour.

You want to borrow it, you might be able to ride her until you heal up

Nice looking scooter.... is the original documetation in english ? I'm asking cause i'm curious if the bike reconditioned and brought here from Vietnam. When I was there there were tons of those bikes in mint condition just waiting to be sold. I think a brand new condition was going for about $1,400 give or take a few $$$....

The shop manual and owner's manual are in english and italian. Think it is a one owner.

It has been, in the same garage even. I have to take the title over to the DMV and get it registered on Monday then I will go pick it up. I would put it on my motorcycle trailer, but after Photog's Mulekick run and scooter pickup, I'm think I'll toss her in the back the way she did and munch on some beef jerky during the long 12 mile trip from Vienna.

Definitely a US original, right down to the "constructed VIN" US EPA/DOT add on booklet from the old days with mileage, stopping distance and acceleration/passing information. We even have the original brochure that the owner had gotten from the dealer with the prices for both the little one and the P200E penciled in under the photos. $1524 was the dealer's retail price in Arlington, VA in 1980.
