Sorry about the quality - old steam driven photo.

Pacific Ocean to the right - and we're looking North. Eastern coast of Taiwan.

A "new" tunnel on the Taroko Gorge Highway, Taiwan

More Taroko Gorge...

The old tunnels are converted to walkways / viewing places when a new tunnel - deep in the rock - is completed:

One lane road - no traffic control devices. Give a toot of the horn and keep moving if you don't hear a toot back.

To see more Taroko Gorge pix look at the May 8, 9, 10 dates on this page: Clicky

Where in Saxony is this? Close to which city? Unfortunately, I've never been there.

The Spray tunnel, near Zeehan on the west coast of Tasmania.

It is an old tramway tunnel put in to service the "Spray" Mine, the strange cross section is to allow the passage of a boiler used at the mine.

This isn't realy a tunnel as such as you can't travel in it without a key to get in.
It is a tunnel put in to assist in the construction of a hydro power station in Tasmania, called "Poatina" which is supposed to be the local aboriginal word for "hole in the ground"

The old Freiberg is one of the nicest towns in GER! A friend of mine is an geologie ingeneer and told me much about the old silvermines and its explorement. That´s the reason why Freiberg WAS a rich town.

Have you ever visited Schloß Augustusburg? In Winter? With your motorbike?

No.

Thanks to the generosity of a European Advrider, my wife and I got to ride in his spare RT through Bavaria. Waaay cool.

But nowhere else in Europe. Saxony, Austria, Italy, France, and Spain are calling me, though.
