I bought a set of Barkbusters from the guys at Twisted Throttle at the last Americade rally

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade...view/4873/656/

With the mount kit I think it was $85 and they put them on They came with black plastic shields and the aluminum strap.

Definitely will save the levers (or hands maybe) in the event of a tip over.

Also, they look mean as hell

Any idea which mount kit for the 950SM? They list for the Adventure, but not specifically the 950SM.

Not sure enough to say.

I would recommend giving them a call, they're great to deal with.

Or they were IME

Doh!

I take it all back.

THESE are the ones I have.

I would bet the kit for the ADV would work on the SM, but again, I'd give them a ring.

Ok Aero. . .

The suspense was killing me.

I called Twisted Throttle for you.

They're looking into it an will call me back.

I'll post up then.

I know it's possible because they put these guards on my bike at the rally.

We have the technology.

OK, I got a call back from the lovely Jennifer at Twisted Throttle.

If your 950SM has bars from:

Magura you'll need BB.BTC.01

Renthal you'll need BB.BTC.02

Reican (not sure of the spelling, she didn't know how to say it and I didn't ask the spelling) you'll need BB.BTC.03

Id guess these mount kits fit other styles of barkbuster guards than the one I have, but I could be wrong.

Enjoy

The biggest issue with hand guards is clearing the Radial mount brake master cylinder. Most wont clear it.

I don't know about that as these are the only hand guards I've ever owned but they fit flawlessly.

Does anyone know if this skid plate for the 990's will fit the 950's? It look like it will, its just a couple of brackets...

$284!! Ouch. But I would be more inclined to ride dirt/gravel roads if I didn't have to worry about holing a case or crushing the exhaust header. Lots of vulnerable stuff under there.
