I have had the Laminar Lip "touring" screen (the taller one) for 5 seasons now. Works great for me (6' 3") at keeping the windblast off my body and no buffeting. It's held on with 3M dual-lock "dots". It's been through track days and have no issues with it staying stuck.

Thanks for the link! Ordered this today. There was a different one on ktmtwins.com, but it looked like it required that I drill a hole in the plastics, so I went with the Powerlet product you link to in your message.

I'm still hoping to put the plug on the left side of the frame (as opposed to the handlebars). Does anyone have experience with that?


On a related note, I put an SAE power pigtail on the bike last night do I could put it on a tender while I'm not riding it. When I did so, I found the battery terminal screws were loose enough to just fall off!

I was having a couple issues starting & stalling... I figured I was just a dope and couldn't operate a choke. I may still be a dope, but at least there's some other reason for the other things.

Powerlet makes some quality parts. I've had the same set for many years now (6+ i think) and still working great.

i used to have the one you ordered on my old 625smc

for my 950sm, i went with this one to try something different.. for me, i think i prefer the first one. i prefer the style and how the wind hits me. maybe i'll switch back next for spring.

Yes. I've wired Powerlet products on to half a dozen bikes. The BMW R1200ST that I have has two Powerlets on the handlebars, two on the frame for my daughters electrics and a cigarette outlet under the seat for air compressors. If you are close enough, I'd be glad to help. If not, ask questions and I will answer as best as I can.

Thanks. I just got a bit lucky with my point & shoot Nikon L22. Just enough natural light on the aluminum & silver, and used macro mode.

I had that mounted on my 950. I liked it. Pics are in this thread somewhere.

I took the stock cowl off, lined up the screen, prayed for the best, and drilled it.

My girlfriend just took her first street ride with her new endorsement and my 950SM. She had fun dealing with traffic and loved how easy the bike was to handle. Not bad "for a girl"...

Not to get to personal, but ladies usually have longer legs than like height males...how tall is your lady? Was she on her tippy toes while stopped? TIA
