For you blokes that hardly ever get them dirty..

ORANGE CRUSH's new poster boy, Aussie Steve Cooney on the LC8 950 SuperEnduro... currently in 20th spot outright (in a field of 44 other 450/570cc lightweight Rally MOTO's)... and has completed 100% (so far) of one of the toughest rallies on the planet. So far this race has chewed up and spat out nearly 50% of the field... INCLUDING the worlds #1 rallye rider...

Noe THAT's truly great job on the last of the V8 Interceptors...

Looks like he's a big guy too. Finally someone other than David Knight I can associate with about riding.

Yeah, it's not easy being large in a sport of Ricky Carmichael sized riders.

For comparison

Got to Suai on the south coast of Timor-Leste last weekend and had to wait until Monday for the border post to open... so we stayed at the Pope's place there. $5 a night

On Wawo Muda yesterday. It is the newest volcano on Flores, Indonesia. It blew out in 2001. We had to abandon the bikes eventually and climb down into the crater.

At the megaliths, near Wogo village. Even our guide got lost - up some dirt tracks, through the bamboo forests, and so on.

The rear fender is a carbon/kevlar piece that I made myself. This is a long trip, with little in the way of decent welding facilities, and I'm carrying a fair bit of gear. I've got a couple of ideas on how to improve it... but its carried 50kg (a pillion) over some damn rough "roads". It sits a good inch and a half above the rear subframe, so the dreaded subframe failure has been avoided (so far).. All the loading transfers into the front section of the subframe.

Just took a photo of the SE in the hotel foyer here in Bima, Sumbawa... haven't uploaded it yet. Having a slow morning, revovering from Reggae night in Labuanbaja - finished up at 3am then had to get up at 6am to catch a 7 hour ferry. Bike didn't get tied in - just leant up against a wall (bloody Motobillet sidestand)

Anyhow... here's a photo with Mr Victor - who claims to be a descendant of the Hobbit people - adults were same size as a 3 year old kid. Bones were discovered in a cave we visited near here. Died out 12,000 years ago (google Flores Hobbit if you are interested)

Here's the road out to the Hobbit Cave. Visibility was down to about 15' on the corners through the grass.... but that didn't slow our guide down.

I loved Flores - brilliant riding - nothing but corners - but had some "fun" in the wet.... decided to ride one slide off the road into the rocky mud - turned out to be the right decision, I ended up with some traction and saved it. Andras crashed.

My rear tyre is almost rooted at about 2,600km - too many first and second gear corners.

In the hotel lobby last night...

In Dompu, Sumbawa for lunch - the restaurant was full of cops... got the sergeant on board

Got wet again.... decided not to fill the tank bag with water again.... my old D100 is taking a while to recover

Having a great time... wish you were all here
