Standard 1/2" ratchet is around 10" long
This spanner is 8" long
90nm = 66 foot pounds so you need 66lbs with a 12" bar
8" is 33% shorter so you will need about 88lbs of weight on the end of the spanner
You can stand on this spanner....I doubt many 950 riders weigh less than 88lbs
If you do you will have to take a mate along with you

The spanner weighs less than your 27mm socket on it's own

Why is the SE's rectifier (?) exposed (zap strapped) on the side of the bike like that ?

To get it away from the intense heat it was subjected to in the stock location directly above the exhaust. Many have failed, some suspect the factory location was the culprit.

Correct. I wasn't having any "issues" with it under the seat, but with the 2 to 1 collector there, I was afraid it might eventually. Even with the heat shield. So far, this has worked well....1200 kms, and a lot of tight, slow single track.
