Here's my old 05 in The Valley of FIre outside Vegas. I sold this bike to buy a BMW GS 1200. I had the BMW less than 4 months and sold it. I've got a deposit on an 08 Strom now.......

A fully loaded bike and a pillion take some of the fun out of gravel backroads. But the big V held up fine.
The Western Explorer in Tasmania. ![]() Having fun on the beach in Tas practicing my Burt Munro impressions ![]() For a big bike, I was surprised how easy they are to powerslide. |

This one's pretty old and not very impressive compared to most of the others here. This is on the beach at Long Beach, WA on my first ride of any distance after acquiring the Wee in October of '04. It was an insurance total that I rebuilt and I needed a State Pbatrol Inspection to get it licensed. All of the Seattle area stations were scheduling months out but the one in Naselle could take me the following week. I took a December Wednesday off of work and rode down. I couldn't resist taking it out on the sand a little bit and, naturally, got it stuck. Not too bad though. I was able to get it out and head on up to the Corral Drive-In for a cheeseburger. mmmmmm
![]() Here's one of the same bike from the Haul Road in '06.

Ok, you said 'off the road'.
![]() I've only had it 6 days and it rained the first 4 so I haven't had it anywhere really exciting yet. Damn though I love this bike! I never did a wheelie before until I cracked the throttle on the VStrom.

The first thing I wanted to do with my new Wee was see how it worked off-pavment. These were taken on my first ride on my brand new Wee.
Is a closed road concidered off-road? ![]() My favorite place to scrub the new off a set of tires.

Deep in Huasteca Canyon, Mexico
During The Mountain Recon, Oct 2007:
Jerry on his Wee, deep in Huasteca Canyon, Mexico (south of Monterrey). The KLR needed a nap, but the Wee kept on going. This was, by far, the roughest terrain I've travelled on my Wee. ![]() We crossed this creek I don't know how many times. It was quite difficult keeping the bikes upright in those rocks. The old gentleman was surprised to see us ride through.

Over Tincup on a Strom?
Quote:
Andy, how far up Tincup did you go? Hats off to ya if you made it over . . . I get bounced around pretty good on my KLR up there, but just added a Wee to the fleet and now you have me thinking that Cottonwood's not the only option getting out of Taylor Park . . . Do the paniers pictured touch down before your pegs in the corners? |
