I took these on the trails I grew up next to, riding my mountain bike with my friends.

There were some kids on ATVs when I got there...one of them asked me for permission to ride there. I'm getting old, at 24...

I need some new tires. Anakee 2s, I think...

Here's mine. I'm still an off-tarmac super-noob, but I learn everytime I go out. Looking forward to many more dirt oriented miles on my 'Strom

I like the mermites and did something similar for my KLR.

Did you sand blast them to get the green off?

Gasket Remover. Elbow Grease. Steel Wool. Paint Stripper. More Elbow Grease. Buffing Wheel. Emery Paper. Did I mention the elbow grease?. **I** think they look great in the polished aluminum. There are many comments from other to the contrary.

The aluminum does look good. I left mine greenish on the outside but cleaned the inside because of all the glue and insulation. Took over an hour with a sand blaster but not much elbow grease.

Wow. The insulation in mine popped out in less than 20 minutes. Sprayed a little gasket remover on the inside and pressure washed about 10 minutes later. Cleaned up real well. Did it in the closed garage and even got a little stoned at the same time.

how did you get the interior metal can out? that took me part of an afternoon and lots of deep scrapes on my hands.

after that it was chisels and the like to scrape the insulation, then sand blasting.
