Held up just fine. You do get some grit under them but the grip so tightly that there is no abrasion.

Iridium and Platinum spark plug

This is the ultimate Spark plug close to the original NGK CPR8E specs to use in the TE610ie

http://www.ngk.com/more_info.asp?AAIA=&pid=27206

This weekend I will install these plugs and see how they perform. From new spark plugs I belive there is no diefference.

I made the original gap samller from 1.016 mm to the maximum gap 0.65 mm

Regards.

Riding evry day to and from work, gets a little wet at times. Leave for a week of riding in Death Valley and Mojave in less than three weeks!

oil drain plug washers, are they re-usable?

Or are we supposed to change them every oil change? I guess the better question is are they crush washers or just flat aluminum or copper washers? First oil change soon...
Thanks,
Grump

I've been reusing mine the last 4 oil changes. It's definitely time for a new one now though.

I haven't had a chance to ride my 610 enough to change the oil since I bought it in Dec 08.....moving, setting up the garage, buying baby furniture, starting a new job, etc, etc, etc has had me busy.

But anyways.....

If it's a copper washer, just heat it up nice and hot with a soldering torch and then dunk it in some cold water. Should be good to go after that.

Death Valley

I just returned last Sunday from 10 days in and around Death Valley. All the off road riding was closed in DV due to recent rains. I really wanted to ride Titus Canyon but it stayed closed all the time I was there or nearby. I hiked into the canyon a few miles from the parking lot on the west side and realized why they closed it; deep ruts from flash flooding. It would be impossible to drive it (have to enter from the east side as it is one-way) in any kind of 4 wheeled vehicle, but easy on a dual-sport.
