We could do something like that. But, your route shows running Portsmouth Island. That's all good and fine for us, but the girls on street bikes might not like it too much...there's NO road/s on Portsmouth!

I suppose they could take an alternate route. lol

Sorry about the quality of the map. In that area the map software
takes a ferry from Cedar Island to Ocracoke. Wonder how the ferry
schedule will be this late in the year?

Motorcycles arn't allowed on Portsmouth...nor do you want to be on the island on one...plus the private ferry is VERY unreliable and kinda pricy too. Great place to surf fish and get away from it all...electricity, toilets, telephones, etc... but not so good a place to plan a ride.

Looks like a minimum 2 day ride there btw...maybe 3

No bikes allowed? We've taken 4 wheelers over no problem. It'd be a blast on bikes....at LOW tide!

The hard pack below the tideline makes for easy riding.

Striper fishing season approaches. I want to squeeze in some surf fishing and maybe even some boat fishing on the trip. One of the reasons for the chase truck/s. Fishing gear!

And yeah, the private ferry is a little pricey. Seems like it was like $120 per truck, each way, last time I went.

I LOVE striper season on the outer banks. Hook 'em up!

There was this one trip and we had stripers and strippers, but that's probably best left alone on here.

I just love how hard those stripers hit.

You can get on the beach there but due the time we didn't.
Made our way up the coast to Wilmington for some food and coffee.
Went home from there. We are looking to get together again the first or
second weekend in November. Any takers

Sorry guys, but motorcycles and 4 wheelers are NOT allowed on the beach at Ft. fisher; only 4x4 vehicles. We live in Kure Beach and operate Pleasure Island Safaris www.pleasureislandsafari.com . I sold my 1961 R69S three months ago. It was a tough one to let go; I have had it since 1974, but a friend's Dad really wanted it. I just started a rebuild on a 1971 R50/6, so I will be ready to ride this Spring.
