Can I play too??
![]() First "mod" I did was to paint the purple frame and rip off the decals ![]() I love my bike. Of course, Ive always been one to embrace unique stuff. On a recent Advrider group ride I had a couple guys look at one side, Look at the other side, then ask "what is this thing?" Acerbis handgaurds now installed, Happy-trails skidplate is ordered. Only complaint I have is the vibration through the bars... But I have yet to do anything about it. Planning on filling them with lead shot one of these days. |

Oh, I also have a complaint about the seat.
![]() I've been pondering carving up an old street bike seat to make something to attach over the current seat. Could clip on this comfy, sofa type thing, ride to camp, unclip it, and hit the trail. Would be REALLY neat if one could incorperate a supplemental fuel cell as well... Hmmm... Maybe some luggage racks too... |

Oil capacity? Fuel?
I've seen a couple for sale around here lately, seems you could mount a http://www.tourtank.com to it pretty easily with the luggage rack. But I think I remember reading that it only carried about 2 quarts of oil???
Think that's enough for an adventure touring bike? I'm mostly set on a DR, but this one looks interesting.... |

Why don't they make the KLX650R anymore
I really miss mine.
I had it for several years. One of my all time favorites for sure. I could never understand the KLR owners.... Then it was stolen.... :( After a short while I found it....and got it back :) But soon afterwards, parts were getting stolen off it again.....plastics , CDI , seat , head light..... :(((( (Same guys that stole it the first time) I re-built it....and continued enjoying the wheelie popping torque Then, during a nice morning ride, the de-compression mechanism on the exhaust cam shaft broke and took the cylinder head with it..... I rebuilt it....again.....and sold it... What a mistake......now they don't make em' anymore.

I just bought a 93 C. I also got a 95 R parts bike with it. I have the tank and seat from the R and some of the green plastic. I mainly took the R when I bought mine as I wanted to add the kick start to my C. I'm open to parting out the R when I figure out exactly what I have. Another co-worker just bought a clean 95 for $675 and I got both of mine for $900.

One thing I do want to change, is a black seat on the C. Anyone know what seat fits that has the "Kawasaki" on it? I have 2 turquoise seats and one purple and they all have the lettering. I like that look and want a black one. Thanks.

If anyone is looking for a KLX650 you might be interested in this one. It is not mine nor do I know anything about it, I just saw it for sale.
It was built for Ty Davis by Team Green. http://www.thumpertalk.com/classifie...1&cat=2&page=8
