Maybe not my favourite, but one of my recent campsites.

Carbondale, CO on my return trip from picking up my ne 1200GSA. 2,500+ miles of return trip. Good times!

Thumb Camping, cool!

Camping, cool. This is fun. I guess ADV riders like to camp. I feel it adds to the adventure :). People I know who ride but don’t camp always have reasons like “I have a full time job, I can afford a motel” or “I’m getting too old to sleep on the ground”. Some of the best times I’ve had while visiting new exotic locations is falling asleep and waking up outside, close to nature and all of that. Camping just feels good to me.

Utah 06' I think this is my best.

Glacier national Park 05'

Sturgis 05' Buffalo Chip campground listening to live rock and roll.

A friend I made near Creel, Copper Canyon Mexico 03'

Somewhere between the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean sea. Mexico 02'.

Agucate village, Belize 02'.

cavebiker screwed with this post 08-25-2006 at 06:46 PM Reason: Correction - Utah

sleeping on the ground

I agree with you there, Cavebiker. I don't feel like I've really been there unless I sleep outside there.

Somewhere in the Minnesota...westbound. Not so much my favorite place that I've camped...but had broadband in my tent and a lady in an RV from the other side of the park felt sorry for me (there were only two tenters in the entire place) and brought home-made pizza. Yum!

Helmet laws suck. They interfere with natural selection.

ATGATT 35:12-14
"And Atgatt courted Motgatt, and took her for a wife.
And lo, he compromised with Atgmott, and verily she conceived,
and did bear a son, Notgatt. And Notgatt roamed naked,
and did bequeath his skin to the roads. And he was a wild ass and an outcast,
and was hated through all the land. And his forehead was branded, and he did be
come a sign and a warning to all the people."

Speaking of wifi and friendly RVers...

I thought I was just gonna look at some pictures on my laptop when I pulled into this KOA... apparently wifi is a huge request with the RV crowd...

And this is John - guy had an awesome RV with a toy hauler. He saw us setting up tents and walked over with a bottle of whiskey to share. Nice. And then he let us borrow his jeep to run into town to the local grocery store. Very nice.

:)

Left the bike at the trailhead

Twin Island Lake, in the shadow of Ritter and Banner, Ansel Adams Wilderness, just south of Yosemite. Thunderstorms brewing, and enjoying a bit of rum in my lemonade. I always camp with a tarp.
