This was a nice heat retreat last week...

...NPS campground on Mt. Pisgah on the BRP @ 5K feet. Highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s.



But we had to deal with this 300-pound mama bear coming into camp several times a day for three days. We found out later that the family who stayed in this site a week earlier had given their kids candy to throw up into the woods around the site to "chum up" bears. It worked!

Steven Cobert is right... Bears are becoming a problem!

Must have been the family in the BMW or Volvo SUV, all wearing new clothes from REI and had electric scooters to ride around in camp.

What do you do when a bear wanders into your camp site ???

In Australia if we get a croc or snake wander in we usually eat it !

In fact if its a roo, emu, goanna.......doesn't seem to matter ...we eat it!
