Pre-12GS...Who needs a ADV tourer? This was 5 miles up a dirt road and a mile of single track with a GSXR1000 and an RC51 outside Pagosa Springs, Co. We're not afraid

It rained all night...we were afraid of the decent

The camp site

The view, or should I say sound? Ever camp close to a bathroom at a state or national park and you'll know what I'm talking about, it amplifies everything, including the door slaming shut.

I had 10,000 square acres to myself: saw deer, bats, hawks, bullfrogs, salamanders, and found a farm. Canoed and hiked, saw bear dung, listened to a pack of wolves while I was trying to sleep, and cooked with a 30 year old camping stove. Bumped into a German guy while hiking who understood my German enough to invite me to a German Wedding!
Enjoy!

My Sierra Design CD Flashlight tent. 2-man and about 5 lbs with footprint and rainfly. Not one drop of water got in despite a night of pouring rain.

Morning java.

And on the 8th day, G_d invented titanium sporks.

Meet Sammy. He walked me over to a nice place to smoke a Cuban. Wait up Sammy!

My crappy collapsible poll...

...pulls through!

On the tenth day, Satan created Cohiba Robustos!

While canoeing, I discovered a small island covered with wild blueberries! I think I ate 1,500!

On the 9th day, G_d created completely waterproof boots for hiking in the mud

The blueberry island!

Just back from Prudhoe Bay, IMO it was really worth the trip, AK is a beautiful place & you need lots of time to take it all in. I'm looking forward to returning & exploring some places i didn't have time to ride.RIP Ron Melton
