That last pic was from a while back prior to mods and changes. I sold those PIAA lights mostly because they were the 55 watt version - I felt if I use heated gear, GPS, heated grips, etc that the 55 watters were more than I wanted to chance....but yes, I wouldnt disagree with their vulnerable location - I think the PO rode mostly road and never was concerned. If I ever get new lights, will try either the 35 watt PIAAs or LED.

On the flush mount signals - those are "likely" future mod....I just spent so much time the past two weeks doing the other stuff, I need to ride the damn thing This Saturday here in Colorado we expect to hit 60 degrees!!!!! Who-wa!!!
I will post some updated mod pics and report out on the KLR dash riser/windshield mod, Kawi gel seat, fork brace, LED stuff (taillight and license plate light) etc. once I get some time in the saddle. Definitely noticed a nice change after the carb mods...and seems like the pop on decel disappeared after doing the air injection removal/mod.

Pic below of the front view of PIAAs.

Also, you mentioned LED flush turn signals...could you post a link or picture of these turn signals? Thanks.

I just did mine from Eagle Mike. He's every bit as nice and helpful as everyone says. Ask around and you may find someone to loan you the tools so you don't have to buy them.

Only go with Eagle Mike. He's got the best kit and he's saved my ass a few times over with other problems. He answered my call once at 9pm and got me up and going. He's my KLR guardian angel.

I started making a windshield a while back and have finally got something that will work while I get sorted to make a clear copy of it.

It all still needs a bit of sanding and another coat of paint, but it will do for now.

Hoyks, that looks good. You'd better get a patent on it.

You gonna sell 'em?

Installed the three inline fuses

wired up the 3 switches and 2 outlets I needed.

A brew break

wires installed and secured.

The switch on the far right operates my Aux lights. The other two power the outlets for GPS and cell phone charger.

Mission accomplished..........Have a good one

Thanks Scott, I did miss it. I like the wiring setup.
I have always liked the terminal blocks (bus bar). I will be using the wiring idea, once I design a new dash for my mod Fairing.

Are all the switches and outlets from Radio Shack?

Once I sand it back and see if I can make a clear one out of it easily I might. It was more work than I thought it was going to be.

custom KLR screen

Hey all, I've just modified a screen off a ZX6 ninja which I had lying around and thought it would be a good low buck modification. Ive tested it at 130km/h with a dirtbike helmet on and its pretty good. Im 6.0' and it just catches the visor, so if i crouch a little im out of the wind.

I can see why everyone changes to different screen now.

That looks nice, Ken. I had a 22" Cee Bailey on '09. It was extremely effective, but huge!

You can take a propane torch and hit the edges of the plexie glass and it will give you a nice smooth looking edge.
