Houston's Smoked Chicken near St. Clairsville OH.

Behind a gas station right off I-70

It wasn't rat but it was very good and tasted like chicken.

Lovely stuff. The unprepossessing shacks are best.

Yup, then wrapped in bacon and grilled - he calls them "The Bomb". I'm going to interview him later this week for a story on my blog so stay tuned...

The dogs know not to touch. They sat up on the wooden platform with us while we ate, but waited for their lump of sticky rice at the end of the meal. Yes... the dogs get eaten too.

Once they are seared, they are gutted and the livers get thrown into the coals for cooking. The bodies are roasted or cooked in stews with some jungle vegetables. The meals are accompanied with cold sticky rice. Its always a communal bowl... sitting around in a circle with one bowl in the middle and a spoon each.

Rat tastes like cat btw.. nothing at all like chicken.

Some more food prep going on. I didn't see where this ended up, so I'm not sure what it is.

Heaven?? Hell?? WOW!! Please, what is the world going to??

Phenomenal post. I'd have to be pretty hungry to eat rats, squirrel, and dog, but that stems from a life of pot roast and chicken fried steak.

Great pics!
