Cobie's Clam Shack, Route 6A, Brewster, Mass. One of the many Cape Cod Roadside clam shacks. Cobie's has been around since 1948. http://www.cobies.com. Great fried clams, hand dipped Onion Rings, burgers, dogs, the usual stuff. This is a true road food joint since it is right off Route 6A. Route 6A is hands down the best road on Cape Cod, long and winding and plenty to see. At Cobie's you sit outside under covered picnic tables. A great place with plenty of shade to stretch the legs, eat some food and enjoy the day.

The menu is pretty much right there on the sign.

Parking, Route 6A and covered picnic tables. Perfect roadside dining.

My fried hole belly clams, hand dipped O-rings and a vanilla frappe that I couldn't finish. Before diggning in I programmed my cardiologist's number into my cell phone.

Williamsburg, Mass.
The potted plants and Astroturf step add a nice touch I think.

Sallys Cafe. If your going or coming to Alaska. Junction of 37, and Alcan Watson Lake.

Good food, information on road conditions, and a wonderful couple that run it.

Road Food

Everyone of the above post sure make me want to jump on the GS and go eat at all the great places represented across this planet by fellow riders. Man, every one of these places looks like good stuff. Ride to eat. I do it all the time.

The famous Agawam Diner - Located at the corner of US Route 1 and 133, Rowley, Massachusetts. This is a circa 1940's Fodero Dining Car. A classis stainless steel diner that is in pristine condition. Go early if you go, this place fills up fast. I got there at 6:45AM and it was at 90% capacity. A gentleman by the name of Stu, a regular to the Agawam I assume since the waitress and cashier both knew his name, sat next to me and started the converstion with "I used to have a BMW, an R100GS too. I wish I never sold it." I get stories like that a lot, I think I hang on to my 1150 for a while. At the Agawam, expect the typical diner grub. I had a "toasted" egg, ham and cheese with a side of home fries. The pies look fantastic, maybe I'll go back for dinner tonight. Photos for your enjoyment...

After breakfast I took the scenic route home...
