Butter Tarts!
After you have enjoyed careening around all the bends that Elephant Lake Road has to offer you might want to stop in at Algonquin Gourmet Butter Tarts in Maynooth Ontario Canada. A bunch of different fillings and if you are so fortunate they might even be in the process of baking them.The fragrance in the place will knock you out and as good as they are at room temperature, warmed from the oven they are seductive...

 Split pea soup and one of the best chicken salad sandwiches ever with cranberries and walnuts on homemade toasted rye bread. The Circle Restaurant in Epsom, NH. on my trip to the White Mountains this summer.
