This WAS the best meal of the trip....tasted better than it looked. Although highly qualified to eat the whole darn thing, I stopped (4 bites from the bitter end)....gogogordy

Brekky #2

This was Sunday breakfast before a 6+ hour ride home.... It hit the spot, but I couldn't finish all of it!....steve_k

Hmmmmm?

Your powers of observation are very astute.....yes these meals were both in the diner at the Amargosa Hotel and Opera House, in DV Junction, Ca.

I'm not surprised though, fellow DR rider and all

Fellow DR Rider and "Extreme" brekky on the road devotee. Looks like the Amargosa Hotel and Opera House is an interesting spot and well worth filing away in the event you happen to find yourself in the vicinity? Thanks for the posts.

Cheers...Steve

Well the clams were....hmm, not good, but the bottle of Penfolds and the setting more then made up for the culinary disappointment. The folks that run the campsite, though not top chefs are good folks. Rather then turn me around they found a place to accommodate my bike and my tent in an otherwise maxed out campground. After twelve hours in the saddle I was more then grateful, so in retrospect the meal was memorable.

Thumb Cappucciono!

Cappuccino, as it is served in the early hours of the morning, in Viterbo, Lazio, Italy.

Notice how I am paying attention to the coffee
