Easy way to search ADVrider - Page 4

To search for threads within a forum, add the full path of the forum, as it appears at the top left of each page. For instance, if you want to search only Flea Market for KTM 950 stuff, you could use this:

Nice, I wonder if that could be done to search individual threads.

I don't understand why the moderators don't just use the built in search function, it does threads and forums.

It's because php is a tool of the forces of darkness, designed specifically to make searching forums as much of a pain in the ass as possible.

Also, it would be nice if we could somehow ignore signatures. All they do is add more useless hits.

That is meaningless. There is already a built in tool in this software they don't use.

That tool is PHP. Which is evil. This forum, like a billion others, uses PHP and some form of SQL. I'm guessing MS-SQL. PHP creates the pages with info retrieved from the database with SQL queries Depending on the skill of the coder(s) who created the forum, searching a PHP-based forum ranges from somewhat adequate to completely pointless.

Apparently it does ignore signatures. It's google search that picks them up.
