I have to give a shout out to the H.A.R.D radar detector . What a totally cool pice of gear. You feel like a fighter pilot and it gives warning when your radar goes off.

Really cool for bikers who speed :)

It looks like a pen, but isn't cheap at $42.00. I've had more need for other 'stuff so far, but it looks pretty handy.

They also have a "Blazer Micro-Torch" that says it has a "windproof burner." But when I look at it, I'm not sure how it is any better. It runs $47.00.

Same flame as any windmill lighter, just different packaging. NONE of them work at altitude worth a dang.

My best piece of equipment is my hi-vis yellow jacket. Here's a posting on it

No, that's not me in the pic. It's off their site at http://www.olympiamotosports.com/airglide/airglide.htm

...To just what kind of altitude are you referring? We live at about 6000 feet, but the mountain next to us is about 10,000 ft....

Kouba Links - With my tall bike and stubby legs, these let me ENJOY riding every day.
Jesse Bags - Glad I sucked it up and bought these first. I would have ended up with them anyway.
X-Treme Cigar Protection Humidors - The 10 cigar one is perfect for a weekend. For a huge selection (Jeep Trips) I also have the 30 cigar size.
Gaerne Oiled Balance Boots - Unlike some others these took a bit to break in around the ankles... they're great now.
IPod Touch (First Generation) - All I need for tunes and grabbing email on the road.
A large selection of earplugs - for when I'm not using the IPod.

Honorable Mention (RIP) My old junky JVC(?) noise blocking earplug speakers. Three years of abuse and finally one side shorted out last week. Probably cost me $5 per year. Being replaced by Etymotic ER6i's which are on their way this week thanks to this thread.

+1...try convincing a bunch of Botswanans of that...they thought 'cause it's Israeli that it's good. 2nd hand story, but even after the sniper demo, still convinced.
