Ever since I took this trip, nothing seems to compare. I'm doing weekend overnighters exploring new regions here in the east, but it just doesn't measure up. My next 'big' trip will be Daytona 2007 in early March, but I've done it the last 2 years, and it will be like a ride around the block compared to Utah.

I was talking to my brother Squidley earlier today about the rides we've taken this year. This has been my best year of riding ever. I hope to emulate, or better it, next year. One can dream.

Just got back from Daytona ........but I was taking care of my parents and I drove across the Country in a rented Minivan full of family treasures. Now that is an adventure! Daytona roads are not exactly like Utah it seems to me - what do you think?

I took the North Route out of Hanksville in Utah too. Folks seem to think going south on 95 is better. Next time!

Try the Sierras next - I did that in the Spring on my VFR with a Vstrom bud. Here we go again, in a word FANTASTIC!!!!

By the way, scorch doesnt need a GPS, look at the flag on top of the speed triple. He always knows where he is. Its in is blood.

That was only an excuse to test drive the Uly.

It's interesting to find this thread when I've just ridden over many of the same roads as you. You're right though, I wanted to stop every ten feet when I was in UT and Arizona - even raised on the west coast and used to "desert" like this, it's still breathtaking!

ETA: Holy crap, I hadn't realized this thread was so old! Pictures are still the same of what I saw just last week though, in a word GORGEOUS!!!

I saw your other threads riding the Wee and that, along with the fact that I love the motor (since I have the same design differently-tuned in my SV) were really pushing me in the direction of the Wee.

Unfortunately, events are playing against me at this point (see my thread in Face Plant) so even the SV is in question at this point.
