What Type Of Bikes Are You Parking Next To?

I find it interesting to see the composition of the motorcycles I park next to depending on what area I am in.

What type of motorcycles are you parking next to? Post a pic. Discuss.

This picture was taken during San Diego's Comic Con, in downtown SD which for some reason, has a lot of motorcycle parking. I had never checked out the shitshow in over a decade of living here, and I knew a motorcycle would be the only way to go for the obscene parking/traffic situation. The people watching was hilarious.

Ten bikes total parked. Four cruisers. Two sport bikes. No surprise there, most of the U.S. market, right? One Ducati Hypermoto and two Vstroms (one of them mine). And a scooter. You wouldn't be in a city without at least one.

Bikes I recently parked next to...

If you advance this clip to 03:11 there is a good selection of bikes I recently parked next to.

I think they reflect region as well as a social segment of riders.

I have a question about bikes parked outside of AA meetings

Why are they always Harley fests? Seriously, every time I drive by the three AA meetings around my office (hey, it's San Diego, lot of drinkers here!), it's ALWAYS Harleys. Every. Single. Time. The noise when they all leave is incredible. People in my neighborhood freak out. Just curious. I'm getting a picture next time I ride by.

Great video and pic by the way.

Around our building there are roughly 25-30 bikes and 14 spaces. This is 7 trying to fit into 5 spaces.

This is one side of the building, there's 4 choppers missing from this photo just to the right of picture, There's scooters & big BMers on the other side of the building as well. Used to be a Ducati under the building and only occasionally a lonely harley will join us.

So I guess we've almost got one of everything.

loving all these pictures

Some great bikes here, the sharp looking xr and the custom cruiser are pretty cool!

Do more people use motorcycles as daily transport in Aus? That's a huge variety of bikes at one building. I should know this from going to uni in Queensland...really interesting what the type of bikes you're parked next to tell you about an area.

All beemers, nice! When I was in Austria last year, definitely noticed the presence of BMW's and KTM's everywhere. Go figure. In the city part of San Diego, it tends to be almost all cruisers and sport bikes.

Checking out parked bikes is like being in a dealership, but better because there's no pressure and you get to check out all kinds of cool mods on the bikes you wouldn't have thought of. That's how I discovered that RAM mount for cell phones, something like $40 USD out the door on amazon vs twice that if you order somewhere else.

You're from San Diego. I really like that city. Was there in 2009 and 2011 for the Miramar Airshow.

The pictures in my previous post are of a long weekend with all beemer riders. Sometimes something else sneeks in. I think the little yellow one is a lot of fun.

I am guessing that you are referring to the front tire. If so, no it is mounted correctly; tread grooves face rearward at the bottom to evacuate water to the rear and out to the sides of the tire to reduce hydroplaning risk.
