Looks like the strategy is to sell a bare bones package at an entry level price and own the aftermarket... oh, and there's a luggage rack.
They even have protectors to protect the hand protectors.

Yes it is. I can't bring myself to buy anything Asian right now given the trade imbalance. And the KTM well, aren't they liquid cooled? That just won't do.

My whine is not so much about the size of the bike but the price. I guess what I want is a simpler, easier to maintain and (much) cheaper R1200GS. Seems like the Buell is the only thing that meets my criteria.

- not absurdly expensive
- relatively simple
- air cooled
- non-chain final drive
- suitable for long tours (500 - 700 mile days)

am i missing something or is this line of bikes underpowered and overweight. A 525 is 100 pounds lighter and makes near the same power but requires more maintainance. Yawn---edit it is ONLY 75 pounds heavier in sm trim
