Raptors & Rockets.
Click on the Imtermot 2006 link at the top of that page to see what the other manufacturers are revealing. The main Intermot page says that he has more BMW pictures to put up in the next few hours. |

The gap is where the proposed F800GS parallel twin would fit in, as and when it is released.

NEW BMW on the way!!!
Ok so its not exactly a BMW twin but check these out
http://www.moto-station.com/article2...challenge.html The new G650 series, a lightwieght competant enduro with 55hp, I think fuel injected and also available in SM version. I can't wait, this might be the reason to let my KTM 620 vibrator go to a good home.

Dr Diess (head of BMW Motorrad) has said that an 800GS is to be built, and everything heard so far says it'll be chain drive. Water-cooled and parallel twin are a given if it is made.

More photos will come from the Raptors and Rockets site at around 4pm Europe time (10am EDT), as BMW has put an embargo on until then.

According to the article, this joint venture with Aprilia will have the engines built by Rotax in Austria. 3 models are planned..
Now.. what is the point in keeping the F650 in production... ![]() This is the do it all model.. the HP2 mini, I guess.. with an air shock, like the HP2, as per the article..

The product manager took a look at the bottom of the bike and gave me a "wtf?" kinda look, but smiled when I said "give us a GS!" He said "you will like what you see." For years, I've lusted over a Super Tenere-style bike, a torquey and narrow parallel twin with enough power to be credible on the highway without being too porky for moderate trail use... and manageable in the soft stuff (where the horizontal twins become a handfull). Everything I've heard so far is that this bike will be a chain drive, too, but after further discussion with the product manager about the enclosed chain that my Bultaco Matador Six-Day had back in the seventies, the look on his face was hard to read. |
