i don't get what its guarding though? the front tire would spit anything out that got caught in between it and the fender, not suck it in...

do you guys make a habit of running over people in front of you or falling on the top of the rider behind you's front wheel?

First time i've seen it in a ton of ice-racing pics i've looked at... Cool fabrication for sure though!

It can't be 100% covered obviously, but if you can reduce the risk, it worth the effort. It's not always required, but for some regulated events it is. My calf nearly got munched when I wiped out and my leg hit the still spinning tire. Some pretty good marks on my mx boots. Tell you what, stud up some tires and go mix it up. When you are close to another guy, passing on the outside, you look down at his whirling chainsaws, you'll hope pray he doesn't low side into you.

edit: Wait a sec, your avatar is a speedway bike and you've never seen this stuff?? It's where it all started.

my avatar is a supermoto, and look where i live ;)

out of all those crashes in the video, i didn't see one that benefited from the cattleguard....?

I mean i wouldn't hesitate to run one, and hope everyone else was too, but it seems like the real danger comes from getting ridden over, and theres not much you can to do put guards over the bottom of the tires... lol.

all those wipeouts looked more or less like supermoto wipeouts. looks like fun!

That's a great pic. Each of you are at about the same angle.

Playing with the torque in a parking lot.
