I love the look of the tube framed Buells best. I hear bad things about them but they just have a great look and it's something I could tinker with through the mid-west winter. I'll have to track one down in the near future.

You won't regret it.

Adored this thing for years. '02 Cyclone M2. Last year of the tubed frame. All wrinkles ironed out. Zero issues...

But a new bike started whispering sweet and alluring words, and I caved. Traded it. Then missed it. A coupla years passed. Another trade, this time for one of its descendents...

Noticed you have a damper. Did you ever experience any high speed wobble? I've had my X1 up to 130 and it was rock solid through the whole range. I see most people have a Banke brace where you have your damper.

No, never, & I don’t think it really needs it. It was on another S1 I bought that was broke & just sitting.
After a young friend of mine was killed due to a big tank slapper on his R1 it kind of preyed on my mind, so I thought... why not use it?
Maybe if the front tire suddenly started going down....?

The low mile (8282 miles) ‘98 S1 still sits.

I have another front head now so it’s easy enough to fix but I have *too many* bikes now.
