you can get an aftermarket one.
like Acerbis or UFO

but if you must have an OEM you can get one from bikebandit.com
or go to the yamaha stealership.

maybe not for his area. For my area I'd ask 2200 and take 2100.

In florida they go a little higher and in Pacific Northwest I think he'd get 2500.

Thanks for your input a1fa, but as dav_dman says, it also depends on the area too.
Over all, the 2007 XT225 goes between $2500 and $3000 (by looking around and KBB), and that's depending on location, mileage and condition.
That's without including the accessories (but I don't think accessories change the overall pricing of a bike, but help the final choice between one bike to another).

I don't see why that narrow of tire would not fit. I guess it is possible that if the profile is much taller you made need a longer chain, but I doubt it.

No clue I bought a non-runner. It spun but had no compression. i pulled the head and the head looked fine. I spun the motor down and saw the cylinder scored big time. I unbolted the cylinder and had a hard time getting it to come up, then it let go quickly and the piston stayed in the bore. I got it out and took the pic. The pin fits good and tight in the rod, not sure what happened. The crank is banged up and I think the transmission shafts. Didn't split the cases yet.
I have been around a lot and have seen a LOT of blown up motors. I used to work for a drag shop and we did a lot of nitrous, turbo, and a bit of nitro drag bikes. Never saw a piston give up like that and the small end and pin be good. Going to try and do an autopsy on it to figure out what happened.

I'd have to agree, I paid $2,100 for an 02' just 3 months ago in Jersey, the best deal in the area. His has farkles, mine was bone stock, not even handguards.

I'd say leave it at $2,500 and make sure nobody bites before lowering. If that doesn't work sell it for closer to $2K but take off the farkles and sell em here.......to me

Sorry, I did not get a chance to look at the area. You are correct -- location, location, location.

Gaulois,

Pricing is what the market will bare - I think its a good start. Be prepared to haggle.

FYI paid $1,800 for the wifey's '02 XR225 w/3500m this spring.

If you are interested in selling the Pelican case - we are a buyer.
