I've considered getting one of your fairings. Do you know the power draw of the lights?
A pair of our high powered lights on high beam pull the same as the stocker. On low beam, it uses about 4 watts, a huge benefit as you will be freeing up a bunch of watts compared to stock.

That is what I paid for mine. It might not have been an incredible deal like I see once in a while but it was close by and easily available for a nice clean bike. My son is super happy with it and I was glad to just have to drive a few miles instead of a few hours to pick it up. Especially since Craigslist sellers can be pretty flaky, I didn't want to drive for hours and find out that a bike was misrepresented or the seller not home or already sold or the such.

You can always offer a couple hundred less probably without offending the seller with a "low ball" offer. I respect sellers that say they are firm on price though and don't bother with them if the price seems too high - that was the case with a couple local offerings. A nice thing about the xt225 is that they must have sold a ton of them, they come up regularly for sale and I have seen some for similar price with only several hundred miles on them. So if one doesn't come thru another nice one will show up. I had wanted to find a Super Sherpa but gave up after a few months of searching.

When shopping for anything, even if the price seems high or the seller says "firm" you can always call them a few weeks after they posted the ad and maybe they will be more willing to compromise...

It never hurts to ask.

A lot of time, when they see the pile of cash in your hand they soften up quite a bit. I like to get a couple G's of 5 and 10 dollar bills. A big stack of bills is very helpful when someone has been sitting on a bike for a while.

Also, if they reject your offer always tell them they can call you back tommorow when they change their mind. A lot of times they will call you back.

I havent received the shock yet but the stock lower clevis had to be used to build the shock. It looks like the lower part of the shock body was used, but the preload will be adjusted from the other end. I'll give more details and pics when it's in my hands.

@ RichBebe, I hope Santa has it insured, his sleigh might get jacked in my neighborhood!

When I acquired my 2003 in August, I went to see and ride the bike. Saw some of the issues, suspected others. Guy was asking $1600. I hemmed and hawed, finally told him I didnt want to insult him with my offer. He said go ahead and I said i couldnt go over $1200 with all the issues. He said "i'll think about it". I drove off and got about 10 minutes away when he called and said come get it. Frankly, I still paid $200 too much, but all is well now and the bike is pretty good.

You never know about folks.

What would be the best tire for mostly on-road riding, on Serow?
I was thinking of Shinko-705 but don't have any experience with those

Cheers
