What you running for the jetting? We're actually selling ours, and it's jetted pretty well.. but I'd just like to know ;-)

Were is the best place to find pilot jets? Local Stealership just looked at me funny and said they only order as needed, but they'll get me one for 16 bucks plus shipping.
Bike already has a 130 main, a UNI filter, and the Z1 mod done. While I'm in there, I figured I'd do the shim, and 42.5 pilot to round out the basic mods.
Carb is in the Ultrasonic. I'm adjusting the valves. Cleaning a little gunk out of the tank. New tires, brakes, etc... you know the drill

Try calling the Thumpertalk OEM store. Should be cheaper than that.

Fender Eliminator

I have read most of the thread, not all. Does anyone have a sugestion on, or where to get a less clunky tail light/blinker/license plate configuration? Sorry if this is 205.

Thanks!

I may be purchasing an XT225 for my girlfriend this week. If I go look at one is there anything to look out for? What are the top 5 must do mods to a stock XT? Thanks

Wanna drive to northeast Ohio? We're selling my wife's (she upgraded to a DR650) ;-).

Okay, as for your question. I think the top mod in my book is sorting out the jetting for best running. What other mods depend a lot on intended use. If you plan on doing a lot of riding at 60+mph I'd recommend going up one tooth on the front sprocket and a windscreen (we used a Turbo City which my wife simply loved, ended up moving it to the DR650).

If travel is planned, a rear rack would be really nice to have.

Change oil, fill with gas... ride...ride...ride...repeat. As far as I can tell the XT is pretty well sorted out from the get go. Perhaps others can chime in on some weak points, but I have yet to find any worth noting.

handlebars with risers

I bent the stock bars this weekend. Anyone put on 1 inch risers and add an aluminum handlebar? Any suggestions on which handlebar? I do not want the bar to sweep back too close to my body.

Yes, Protaper SE CR high and 1" risers. Make a huge difference in standing riding. Together they are maybe 2 1/2" higher, only slightly more sweep, but wow, what an improvement. I don't know what Yamaha was thinking with that low bar.

Compare the height of the bars with Jolly's posted above. Sweep is slightly more, maybe a 3/4" if i remember right.
