Is this still the current price? . And is that USD? Quote:
But I gotta wait just a bit and sell some more old crap. I just depleted my PayPal on HIDs and Gerbings Gloves. I'll be back !! Have the tool boxes changed any for your new 990 Adv bashplates? It looks like they'll fit around my Safari tanks juuuuust fine ![]() Are they watertight? . I don't see a seal on this old pic. It'd still be OK if not, just wondering......

Hi Guys,
The standard 990/950 Rally bash plate is $650 for Advriders. Shipping to the states is, With tracking and insurance $221.00 Without tracking and with insurance $185.00 The bash plate fits fine with the Safari tanks and the lids are pretty much water tight they have a foam seal stuck on the under side of the lid and if they start to leak its easy to replace. The bash plate is the same as the one in the pics and are made out of 5083 Alloy and fully tig weldered. I wont have any ready untill Januray some time as Ive got a heap of work on. If you need to know any more details just ask. And all prices are in Australian Dollars. Cheers Matt PS: Burns Ill PM you the details. |

I am interested in Matts bashplates and have some questions:
1. Plate for 640 adv 2003: I read in this thread that it weights 4,85 Kg in the version 5 mm mainplate and lids / 3mm boxes. In another thread about the bashplates I think there was a version with 4mm / 3mm and around 4 Kg ? Because I like low weight travelling motorcycles and I will not be speeding on motocross tracks jumping on big rocks I think the lighter version could be right for me. And no rallyes, just long distance travelling! So what do you think about 4mm bashplates? Anybody tried to put the battery in one of the boxes? (eg Yuasa YTZ10 150 x 87 x 93 mm plus some mm for the connectors)? Size of the boxes (approx.)? Do you know if the left box interferes with the tankguards made by Chris Barnes ( http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...=111303&page=8 )? 2. Plate for 950 adv 2004: How much does it weight? Its also 5mm/3mm? Size of the boxes (approx.)? Is there a powdercoated version? (Picture in post #82 looks like powdercoated) I tried to PM Matt and sent an email already some weeks ago, but there was no answer, maybe something went wrong? |

Hi Tom,
I can tell you two things: - Fitment with Chris' tank guards is fine - 4mm should be thick enough, it might be a bit more susceptible to dents but it should not punch through on a light(ish) bike like the 640. Lukas

Absolutely outstanding. Can you recap how it works? Does it come in both right and left versions? Are the loops on the bottom designed for attaching gear?
