Here's an old picture of signs that aren't there anymore. Does anyone else remember which Northern California road these signs used to refer to?

While the bottom-most sign says "Motorcycles Prohibited", I believe that I sufficiently expressed my thoughts on the matter.....

Greg, the swines have put a light right in the centre to stop you going straight through the middle.

Who goes first? The guy that arrived first? The guy with the biggest truck? The guy with the biggest balls?

As I'm always in a renter, I usually just shut my eyes and press the gas!

the guy who got there first goes first... and if you got there at the same time as someone else, then the guy on the right goes first. if the guy was directly across from you and is going straight (and you are too), then you can both go at the same time.

i don't understand those roundabouts...they make NO sense to me.. haha.

When I started this thread I had no idea it would go this long and come up with so many great road signs. The funny, scary, and sometimes barely intelligible foreign signs are the best. As well as some of the great scenery ones. Thanks to all

I've been planning a trip to the Big Island (AKA Hawaii) and will definitely rent a 4x4 for those roads. There are lots of "off limits to rental cars" routes that severely limit your area of exploration.

BTW that valley got nailed pretty badly by the big tsunami back in the 60s. If I were on the beach there, I would stay near the vehicle and keep an eye peeled for receding water.

That's $6.16 per US gallon at today's exchange rates!
