Which reminds me, I'm hoping to bring both helmets with me. Leave my streety at your place and swap to the MX, then swap back to the streety on the ride home.

Thinking about wearing my MX on the way to Dryden hurts my neck.

Fuel

What's the longest leg b/w fuel stops. Don't know my bike's reserve yet and she's thirsty - especially when you twist the throttle a bit I have a theoretical range of about 300 km - but I think it varies greatly with type of riding. Again, no experience with this bike yet so, do I need to bring extra fuel canister?

Us

Another quick question - are we going into the US at all. If so, I need to bring passport and residency card . . . I'm not actually a Canadian, eh.

You don't need to carry fuel if you can go 300km.We won't be running at Dakar speed; so consumption will be less.Bring your photo ID thats all you will need to cross the border. We don't plan on the USA on this ride, maybe the Summer Run will route into there, but I have changed plans mid-trip before(steer around the thunderstorms) and will not rule out anywhere.-it is Adventure riding!

Even carrying extra fuel, Bill can only go 250 km
between fuel stops on the KLX250, so 300 km is lots.

US Entry

Well, you Canucks may just need photo ID, but I actually do need passport and my expensive Landed Immigrant residency card - they are just valuable documents and I HAVE to travel to the States for work shortly after our trip. I just didn't want to take it if not necessary as if I would happen to loose it, that would put me in a difficult (and expensive) situation to get replaced in time.

As far as fuel goes, OK I won't bring any extra, but remember 300 km is the theoretical range. And, I'm fine with travelling leasurely - but this bike REALLY makes you want to just goose it - it begs to just let'er rip, so on occasion I may have to give in!

Supposed to be a hot one... ~30C.

I might catch you around somewhere, but not on the dirt this time, I'm riding the Burger.

A nice day to ride

I got off night shift this morning crashed for a few hours and took the Burger
for a little pavement tour...

It got up to about 31C (88F) today, which hot for us poor Canucks!!

The ice is just off the lakes, so every time you get near one, you cool
down...

There's definitely a fire ban in place...

I stopped and had some lunch here, I hung around for about half an hour, but never saw another vehicle...

This whole road runs parallel to the abandoned railtracks...the last 20 km is really twisty...(sorry no pics)

I was looking at those paved roads last year and thought there must be some good slab riding.....

I saw a Burger with a velorex sidecar yesterday!
Att: riders you may want to change the colour of the track from white to dark blue or green or black before you load your GPS with the data for the IceBreaker Ride. The white colour does'nt show up as good on the screen.
Also bring a few $5 bills if you want to pull cards at the various stops. 7 card ace high winner take all. -Hektoglider-

The ride from Silver Dollar to Souix Lookout is excellent...lots of vistas, and
chunks of tight 30km corners.

Now, where's the pictures of the fish??

I never brought the camera along, and sure enough there was a calf moose that could barely stand up well enough to walk away as I rounded the corner it squated down 30 feet way..........

Don't know if you've been watching the news, but we won't have to worry about riding the Gunflint Trail for a while...hope the fire doesn't jump far enough across the border to affect the Pigeon River area!
