Posted the ride+date info at klr650.net, hope that's ok. Not much action in the Manitoba section there, but you never know, might bring out a lurker or two.

Not much headway in confirming my attendance, but I'm dropping hints every day. Work shouldn't be a problem, but family might.

Definately going to be riding weather this weekend, high of 14

I'm hoping to get out riding this weekend as well. We got 20cm of snow the other day, so some of that will have to melt first.

and here we are and got a bunch of snow+ice yesterday.
If you go once you will go again...I made it to Tuscon and got the bike the next day, then rode to the Mex border.I got all my paperwork for the bike, insurance ,pesos etc, and made a clean getaway the next day.I am now in Creel Chihauhau and will continue south from here through the mountains to Durango, via Parral and on to Mazatlan. The bike is running great,it has a lot of power, its mint, except for the minor oil leak at the base gasket. The roads and food are good.....Hektoglider...

It would be nice if you can find another "Toban, so you have someone to ride up with.

DRF traded the KLR for a Wing, then bought a Versys.

I'm not sure he wants to scratch it up just yet

If it's a cold rainy day...that's not gonna be a fun ride to Dryden. 3.5 hours or so? My brother's got a cabin around Kenora, He'd probably be there on the long weekend so I could always get a warm-up there on the way home.

15th and the 18th are full riding days right? So I need to arrive on the 14th and leave for home on the 19th? Getting good vibes from the wife, so Manitoba may actually represent. How are the logging roads mid-may? Still pretty sloppy?

Nice bike. Yep, show up here on the 14th, i've a room for you. We leave here on the 15th, and meet Bill (from Dryden, KLX250) here. Then we will ride up to Atikokan, and meet Hektoglider at about 1:00.(he gets off night shift that morning, and trust me, he really needs his beauty sleep) Another rider from Thunder Bay (Steve) will meet us there.

From Atikokan, we follow Hektogliders flight plan.

Any other riders want to join in, they're welcome, but as with any group ride, when the
train leaves it leaves. In this case, the train leaves Dryden at 10:30 on the 15th, and if anyone misses it, we aren't waiting. On the bright side, we're a bunch of old farts,
so we don't ride like maniacs!

We have an USAF plane crash to find as well. Supposed to be right where it crashed,
with one wing in, and the other out, of the water.

I also havent heard from Northrider, (Kenora) or RedRyder (Souix Lookout) yet.....

Did a search for some of Hekto's Ontario ride reports to see what I'm in for...

I love those lake shots...and hope I can keep up. The guy should open an ADV tour service with all the exploring he's done.

We have a little rule...you don't worry about keeping up, everyone rides thier
own ride. We always predetermine the next stop to mske sure of that.

You mean it;s winter again...I got a few good days of riding in here.

Did some spring maintenance on the KLR yesterday...hmmm...isn't this battery supposed to have water in it??

Changed the headlamp to a Nighthawk bulb...man, is that thing bright!!

Ya, It didn't go down to freezing a couple nights ago, so I was able to take it to work one day....otherwise a little risky with all the water on the streets. (Paul Mondor I ain't) Maybe put another 60km's on it riding around town - only been close to mowed down once.

I installed a few x-mas goodies, DR wide pegs, Happy trail shifter and a pelican top case. to all of them. Other than the shifter, they're items I say "how did I live without these for so long?".

I've got the Givi top case on mine...it's so handY!

I went the other way with the pegs, I've got big wide rubber ones from a Honda 650 on there.

Can't wait!

I was going to post a few teaser shots, but I see you have found them in the RR from last year.I have a nice route planned for day1 and I will probabaly pre-ride it before May,to see how the conditions are and just to go riding. Also this will remind me of the distance/time it takes to get through. We can probably go see the large white pine conservastion, and also see the abandonded gold mine on day one.We will see.
