Hello Ara
Did Spirit help you to pull the rig off the sand? , I guess that in the middle of the desert there is no tree, then your winch was this useless. You should consider these two options if you do not want to be stock forever in the Southwest: http://www.ohlins.com/Motorcycle/2WD...2/Default.aspx http://www.mobec.de/gespanne/duodrive/index.html Because do not forget that you have an appointment with the Northeast before July!. What do you think about a 3WD sidecar ?Be safe and enjoy your Big Adventure with Spirit and all your new friends on the road. Didier |

Hi guys... twintwin... j'aurais du pensez que tu ecrirais quelque chose dans ce genre!!!
The winch was off... bad mounting... I know... I was told that already... it is in the rear now... very very solid and actually with much better handling! I was told today that it was the worse road I could have taken... so the rest will be a piece of cake... carpeting helps also... forgot about that... and by the way I do have an anchor!!! All is well... Ara & Spirit

Beautiful Southern ABDSP
![]() We had a blast today! Literally... my best day since in ABDSP... and, as someone mentioned it, the Southern part of the Park is it for me! No doubt... I am finding out slowly what attracts me to the land... Vast open spaces, the solitude and the lack of a crowd, unlike Borrego Springs itself. Having commitments from the 26th of this month to be in Death Valley and Mojave Desert and backtrack to Gila Bend for a couple days, I know... thanks for the support, it is a tough schedule... I decided to come back here afterward but camp in the Southern part which you will read a bit of it in today’s Blog. You be well... Ara and a tired Spirit... snoring as we speak!!!

Maybe a live Camera Cam?... Be well, and again thanks for all the help... we are quite a community! Ara & Spirit

Ara, I am in. Great idea. Tour company.
And that would also mean I eat for free...Chef Ara custom meals 4 times a day (if you're cooking I would gladly take FOUR instead of THREE meals a day.)Seriously, I would love to be out there riding with the 2 of you. One day our paths again will cross... J'e'n says "HI" back at ya...so does Lucy...so do your boxes. ;) |

The first bloom in ABDSP...
![]() Busy, busy!... maybe I will take a vacation and “do nothing” someday, and then again, that is just not me! From meeting locals in Borrego Springs to picking my next campsite in the wilderness... finally... and getting stuck one more time... it is all in the Blog with of course, more pictures! Be well... Camping East ABDSP
![]() Out of Borrego Springs this am... into the camping spot I was checking out yesterday... time to put everything to test... and even managed to take a little ride toward Salton Sea... A beautiful HOT day, not a good one for pictures as the haze was real thick, still managed to save some for your viewing on the Blog... Be well... Ara & Spirit

![]() Heavy winds, deep sand... a couple more days and I will be out of here. Thursday, assuming it is Tuesday today... I will spend the day in Julian, nice black top going up and heard that it is a very cool town... In the meantime I checked out Ocotillo Wells, Salton Sea, dinner with new friends... All in the Blog. Ara, you make me jealous every time I see your pics. Just beautiful. Drop a line or give a call sometime.
![]() Spirit seems to be saying "I will not look at the giant bath that awaits before me" in this pic. Tell me, is your bike in the water here or on some type of ledge? I really like the cropping you are doing to make the pics nice and wide. Nice work! |

I just got some time to read your blog, and I'm living vicariously through you and Sprit now...what an adventure of a lifetime, what a great story. If this is some sort of healing journey, I would bet you will come out just fine in the end. Take care and good luck, I will enjoy keeping tabs on your trip.
