PS: nice website...
Wow, love the stickers, I have the same exhaust on mine now. That bike is not that comfortable for me either, but it's pretty and sounds really good

Thanks for the compliment on the website, I hope to clean it up this winter and make all the pages at least looks the same and have the same navigation

A Xmas wish.....

Suddenly in this Desert stricken unfamiliar surroundings, winter beating on us, poor Spirit shivering, Beemerchef on the verge of malnourishment, with just enough motivation and energy to somehow enjoy himself... comes to the realization that a rider from Chicago is arriving here, on this very same soil... in a few days... and it is Christmas... no snow promised... how can it be to go through a blue Christmas? Melancholia sets in, bordering an era of depression... but the thought that all this could be saved by a White Christmas traveling southbound is murmuring hope to the lost heartbeats barely felt... I mean... a... WHITE PIZZA!!!

Hummmmmmmmmmmm.... and the thought will linger, the hope of it will make the days bareable again... only if...

The present... a White Xmas = + !!!

Riding with Pots and Pans...

I have been trying since my departure to switch places with Spirit some days! But no deal... he is a stubborn dog!... and last Sunday was one of those days, courtesy of the San Antonio Riders visiting Big Bend, that I tried really hard to convince him... hey, riding ain’t that bad buddy... the bike runs good, you can build up a bit of your upper body muscles, get a bit of adrenaline rush here and there... you will still get to eat, drink and mingle... but no go...
So I guess I am stuck in this position, witnessing sometimes on a daily basis all the attention he gets, and the petting, and the scratching... where did I go wrong?
And there is more on the Blog... I hope this situation lingering ahead does not alter my mind...
I am after all, only a human being!

Enjoy... Be well...

Ara and Spirit... I had to sign for him, he is too busy...

Mmmmmmmmm that pizza looks good so does that couscous you made

Enough of this work stuff, I leave for TX tomorrow before sun up. I hope I don't run in to any of that foul weather that is heading east.

Spirit is the best medicine there is for when you feel depressed.
When you make your next move further west, I'll find you and then you can feed me some of your delicious fare. I've been losing weight, my cooking is OK but living on the bike doesn't allow me to be too creative.

Safe travel.
Nice to hear from you... Spirit has been doing awesome!... his energy is up... we run, play... he eats and eats... you know the story! I could not see doing this alone this time around, even if I have some compromises to make because of him!
I feel good too... My post about "melancholia" was a suttle way for VIVID1 to bring a White Pizza from Chicago!... Imagine that!!!... what a treat... it would be...
I am torn, as I leave here January 3rd, between shooting to Anza Borrego directly or spending some more time in Texas... New Mexico and Arizona, the two latter States that I am familiar with but would love to see again...
Will see what happens...
Food... anytime!... you know that... it is for me a part as much as the riding... even though I am having a blast taking pictures!... and writing...
Will stay in touch... hope you are doing well... and... Happy Holidays... for whatever it is worth!

Be well....

I realized that was a BIG hint

I’m actually visiting a friend in OK my first night on the road and wanted to bring some Chicago style pizza for him, he rode through Chicago this past summer and I took him downtown to an authentic pizza place. I was going to surprise him with pizza, but I've been so busy with work and packing, just ran out of time to find a place that will sell it uncooked and how to transport pizza for so many hours/days? They ship them, so I’m sure there is a way just not enough time to make it happen.

Anyway, Chicago style pizza tastes best ….in Chicago. I'm bringing good Chicago beer if you're in to that oh, beer tastes so much better with pizza

A tour of Terlingua, Texas...

So this is where I lived...

This is where I live now...

How ironic that public “progress” is the reverse of my present life’s progression...
Thought I would give you a tour of Terlingua, a little town unlike others... with a lot of local flavors and inviting little spots... all in the middle of some of the beautiful landscape I have ever seen... I will be leaving in about 10 days... and I know that I will miss it... but the road is already calling... more Texas? New Mexico? Arizona? Southern California? Maybe Spirit can decide...

Be well... enjoy the Blog...

Ara, may Santa bring you a lil Christmas cheer in the next few days.

Be safe and live life.

The day before Xmas Eve...

I am not going to lie and say “it feels like Xmas...”, because it does not...
The campground is fuller, a couple Adv riders have arrived, more tomorrow...
Old Faithful got a new front shoe today and some Xmas lights!
And a dinner at the Starlight Theater finally...
More pictures and a full report on the Blog...

Enjoy...

Merry Xmas and happy holidays for you, Ara and Spirit, from Denver. I wish I could be there with you on my bike, but I guess Xmas with the "Yellow Woman" and friends will do for now thinking of you my friend, Tomas

The day of Xmas...

Maybe I can again add myself to the tent site... and change the address every so often!... Big Bend right now... still...
There has been only one “no good” weather day... and that was yesterday, I cannot even call it bad...
Last night the wind must have been blowing at around 50mph... Mike and John, that was John by the way... not James!... took refuge in their truck... the tough girls, Anna and Becca endured somehow the night in their tent. Real troopers... From Chicago and Texas... would you expect any less?
And the day cleared up and the ride was awesome... as usual... full report in the Blog...

Hope you are all having a great day, Many Thanks to all the great wishes I received... it sure is nice to know that friends think of me...

From Ara and Spirit... have a great one... and stay well...
