extra driving lights anyone? these are on sale

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...requestid=9796

Saw these in the vendor forum and just ordered.
Was $14-something with shipping.

Here's the link to the vendor forum blurb
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=186390

They're 55W lights. For that price, worth a try for an extra "HOPE YOU SEE ME YOU OLD BLUE-HAIRED BASTARD!" type of position light.

I ordered a set too. Don't need them mind you but a guy can always find a few bucks for a good deal. Right? JT

I have a set on my R100GS, the lights work well, almost as good as the stock lights on my R1150RT

I have a pair myself. I was told that I could never get "lost in the dust" because they are quite bright... I use them all the time to be more conspicuous, and never had anyone flash their lights at me... Here's kinda what they look like...

Just a follow up. Not on the lights but on Cabela's. One of the lights I received had a broken lens. Sent it back. Dispite a number of emails they never got back to me whether it was received or not. Ended up talking to 5 different folks on the phone, which seems ridiculous for a $10 set of lights. Bottom line was they would only reimburse me for the lights, not for shipping them to me or my shipping them back. Seems in the fine print somewhere I was supposed to call them first. This dispite an earlier email saying they would reimburse shipping both ways. Ended up disputing the charge on my credit card. As it stands Cabela's customer service seemed ridiculously poor and petty. Knowing what I know now I would have kept the one good light and called quits. But I also know enough not to do business with them again. For what it's worth. JT

I got two pairs, neither of them broken, but I don't have a way to mount them. I wanted to put them on both my '02 K1200LT and my '83 R100RT and I figured that there were mounting brackets to be had. None that I can find, however. Does anyone know of a universal bracket for either or both of these bikes?

Robin, I don't know of any brackets for the k bike, but I made brackets for my rt and there is a little article on how here. These brackets also will work on airhead rs's.

There is a photo on the photos page #3 of these on the bike. JT
