Hey guys and gals, keep us in your thoughts and prayers, my 18 month old fell on our golf cart Wednesday and split his lip to his nose. four stitches, and we have to see a plastic surgeon Tuesday. He had to be put to sleep urgently Wednesday night for the stitches, and it was the scariest thing I think I've ever had to witness. I'm just having a hard time right now because had I been holding him, he wouldn't have slid out of the seat and hit his mouth.

Hardest thing in the world, seeing your kid in pain. I pray your wife doesn't hurt you.

I hope this was no one here.
To the fella on the BMW who passed me going north on hwy 9 today...on a double yellow line, in a curve, going over a hill, while your kid was riding two up with you: You're an idiot. My anger toward your stupidity ruined my entire ride home. You don't deserve a bike. I'm done with my rant, please return to your normal discussions.

Riding is my passion
|
Who Says a Vstrom can't fly
David, Dawn, Bob, Cheryl, Sarah, & I did a quick ride this afternoon to the covered bridge down near Gay, GA and then a run down to Pine Mtn.
The road leading up to the covered bridge from the North is dirt, so since I have the TKC's still on the strom, I decided to go play on the dirt road while everyone else was checking out the bridge. A little bit of my hooligan side started show on my first run back to the bridge I was moving pretty good and realized I was about to launch from the gravel up to the wood platform. It caught me off guard, but I made a beautiful jump that of course no one caught it on camera, but they saw it, so I setup to do it again, and then again, and maybe again with some arm twisting! :Dawn grabbed these shots and I think Sarah and Bob both got video's. Landing on the wood was a bit unnerving and then immediately out of frame is the actual covered bridge with two sets of boards raised up and running parallel for the tires to ride on or you can take the middle lower section with the boards running perpendicular. Starting to launch ![]() Coming down a bit nose heavy on this one ![]() I've got a heck of a launch on this one, too bad I'm about to leave the picture frame. You can see the rear tire is about where the bottom of the first rail is. ![]() These pics below are from another ride a few years ago, but here is what I'm going into at warp speed! ![]() ![]() Bob's video. And keep in mind, I'm heading into that covered bridge having to follow one of those board tracks! LOL Sarah's vids See, told you they twisted my arm to do it more than once! They were talking about me falling through on this one! :

How many sticks...
does it take to hold up a KLR?
![]() ![]() We rode the Ocoee/Cohutta loop today for 77 miles of dirt. From Tumbling Creek all the way to below Lake Conasauga, the forest service has dumped large gravel all over the road. We had fun but nearly as much fun as we did before they ruined it.

That article was from the New York Times. ![]() Got a bruise on my thigh but the gear did it's job. Just let the front end get away on some tar and gravel running about 30-40. I had almost stopped sliding before I went over the bank. I could hear the bike running up top but kept sliding back down when trying to climb out.
