Off topic I know but I'm looking for a service manual for a KXF 80 or Suzuki LT80 atv.
I don't do Paypal and downloads are always good!
I want to fix it up for my nephew to play on. Yes, me too!

What is he using to tan the hides? I used to use a 50/50 mixture of glycerin and regular ole green anti freeze. Made the skins almost like thin naugahyde. Had an almost translucent look to the skin and it was very flexible. If he uses salt, it will work but it will be stiff and when the humidity get high the salt will absorb the water in the air and make sorta of a mess.

That diamondback I tanned lasted a good 20 years on a board till kids and the dog tattered it and I threw it away. Believe it or not, it was still supple when I threw it away.

BTW, left to right,,,,, that's a timber rattler {canebrake}, eastern diamond back, the 2rd over could be an eastern but the lighter color looks to be a western diamondback and the one on the far right is a copper head. How'ed I do?

All he's missing is a drab and ugly cotton mouth and if he really bugged about getting all the vipers, a bitty little pygmy ratter. Maybe add coral snake for good measure. It would be a shame to kill the latter two though as they are pretty rare to find.

I love the outdoors and growing up in south Ga.with the Ogeechee was pretty much walking distance and the swamp that surrounded it was absolute heaven to a kid like me growing up. Hunting, trapping and fishing was all I did and that got me into snakes. I've caught pretty much every snake that lives down here excepting a coral, never had a chance to see one of them in the wild. Can ya tell I like yapping bout the outdoors and old times?

I know he's using glycerin but not sure if he's cutting with antifreeze.

Nice day for a ride!

Wandered out by myself for a leisurely tour of the forest roads south of Suches yesterday.

Surprised I did not pass a single bike in my ride up Winding Stair, Springer Mountain, back up Noontootley, across 42 all the way to Suches back around by the hatchery, down to Ranger Camp and back across to Nimblewell.

Stopped at Rider's Hill on the way home and now I know why I did not see any bikes on forest roads...they were all at Riders Hill!
