 My father in law made it through surgery well. I had a couple of hours to kill so I rode the WR up to Oakey Mountain. I came in on the south end, rode up to the main parking lot and then back. The leaves were so thick you couldn't see the trail. That made the hill climbs interesting--just guess a line, twist the throttle, and hope for the best. Actually ran into Slowride on a dirt road on the way out. Pete, I trust you made it up and back safely.

The 690 is a hoot on the whole trail, but that one big ledge on Polly Anne Gap has my number. Maybe its mental, maybe it's old age, maybe it's the stiff sidewalls of the Motoz Desert H/Ts, maybe my suspension is still too stiff. But every time, I'm getting bounced out of shape before I make it to the ledge, then don't have the speed or traction to get up high on the bank and around the ledge (and I don't have the cajones to nail it in the center).

That Rock Ledge hung me up too  But I sure was glad to have that 14t countershaft sprocket, so I could get started back up from a dead stop

Bet the scenery over there along the rim is awesome this weekend. I had a great ride Friday after lunch over to Mentone.
