Beau, we looked for you to show.

When I left the cabin this morning at 8:30 or so it was 33 and frosty. SloDon on his GSA and Craig from Dawsonville Cumming on a Tenere were at the Hardees and Twisties showed up a moment later. Then Kirk came in.

We went out Gates Chapel and up to Potato Patch. From there we headed to Mill Creek where started shedding liners and run into this Ural hack rig. I had seen him in Eton yesterday. Said they had camped at Hickey Gap and was surprised to see "big sport touring bikes" up there.

From there we went down to 2, up to Jacks River and out by the YMCA camp to 64. Lunch at the Dam Deli then headed up Chihowee. Good stretch of uphill asphalt from 64 to this overlook.

From there the asphalt turns to dirt and comes out on 30, back down to 64, old Hwy 2 off of 5 between Copper Hill and Blue Ridge, back by Jacks River Fields and the Mountaintown overlook, then Potato Patch and back down to the cabin.

Absolutely perfect day to be out in our beautiful mountains. Awesome to be riding in November in mesh and summer gloves. Roads were pretty good. Dust in places where you'd expect like heading towards Jacks, but lots of good moist solid tracks today.

Enjoyed it guys. Hope everyone had a safe ride on home.

My little girl has been saving her money and today made the decision that she wanted to buy a bigger bike. Brought it home and she immediately began riding on two wheels before I could pull the training wheels off the old bike. She made a couple laps up and down the drive in front of the house and then declared, "Ok, now I can get a motorcycle!"

That's my girl!

That's what it's all about. My two oldest were riding before the training wheels came off their bicycles.

Where is the overlook in the above pictures? I need to see that place for myself.

Great ride today...beautiful weather and great company.

Rush2112_2112 must be telling one heck of a story. Al Tuna, MB90535im and MrsTwisty appear to be intrigued.

Here's all the "sport touring" bikes lined up and the hack in the background.

Twin Tenere's!

It's on Oswald Dome, overlooking Benton, TN.

Same here.

Wanted to ask and forgot, how did the Russell do for you on the FS roads?

I like the idea of the comfort long distance, but I've read several of the GS guys who have them say the wings get in the way when they're up and down and shifting around on gravel. Your seat the wings didn't look quite as exaggerated as the GS version.

I can put in pretty good stretches on the Corbin, but usually am ready to take a break by tankfuls anyway. That's around 200-225 miles for me.

Shut up Mitch... You'll go to sleep if you get that seat.
