Nice!

Any feedback come about from that film??

Street/vert skating seems like a great cross-training exercise for moto stuff ...especially trials (skaters seem to take to trials pretty naturally from what I've been hearding). My sport was primarily surfing right up until a year or so after I got my first moto in 2003. Still skate & surf, but not daily like before - there's a lot of ground to cover on the KTM !

Don't remember when these were taken - sometime between '98 - '04. My friends & I would all shoot B&W film & process in my darkroom.

Skimboarding is closely related it seems ...

I just found my way to the indoor skate park.
I went for the pro shop, not the ramps(this time).

I am thinking about getting a board for my daughter and just wanted to know if parts were available in my city.

Deck $44
Trucks $44
Bearings $10 - $44
Wheels -pink are the cheapest.

I did not buy,I know she is not ready.
She has only been riding her Razor scooter since Christmas, and is doing pretty well.

She does ask me for a "lesson" on my board a couple of times every time we are out.She stands on it,and I give her hand a little tug.
I will say she has improved at this technique.

I guess I will get it for her,but I want her to keep up the scooter.
She scooted all the way around the lake while I boarded. There is no way she would have even walked half way around.

I sort of feel this is more to me at the moment,so I guess I will just spend a little time feeling it out.

I did get to talk to the park owner,he feels that the local government could be on the verge of building a public park.
He is for it because it would increase his business.
He is also glad they consulted him because he stressed the importance of having it built by pros.
Bad thing is that they want it far out of the city where the ball fields are.
I think it should be downtown where the skaters are.
They are not destructive, they just need a place.

Just back from Prudhoe Bay, IMO it was really worth the trip, AK is a beautiful place & you need lots of time to take it all in. I'm looking forward to returning & exploring some places i didn't have time to ride.RIP Ron Melton

Very cute.

Reading this thread, I'm waiting for the first casualty report to come in.

We make such a fuss for our kids...

But then it seems we're too manly to wear even a pair of elbow pads for ourselves. When I get back on a board, it'll be with padded shorts (protect the hips) and elbow pads, and a pair of gloves. And I'll practice rolling when falling.

It was a good spot.
There was an elementary gym teacher with about a dozen kids.

There was also the owner of the internet store,$1,000,000 year.

And a lot of footage of the top rider in the world.

This is my current ride,I am thinking about switching to my first deck, a Logan Earth Ski.It is a little narrower, and I have not sought out vert yet.

What wheels are everyone using? These are from the concrete park days.
The set I bought for this board are small and hard, what the ramp riders were using at the time.

Oh MAN that brings back memories!!!

Were I you, I'd frame that thing & ride something else...

This thread had me combing the garage ... actually brought a skateboard & trials bicycle to this recent Advrider gathering for everyone to try out... no (major) casualties to report ...

Was working in the home office the other day & could hear some kids out front riding around practicing curb tricks ... it was too much to resist. A quick break & there was a 30something office worker practicing bigspins with 6th graders in the street out front...

My kids were thoroughly entertained...

Looks like you'd clear 2 stacked boards

You're in the Bay Area? Most sketchy thing I probably ever did was bombing Haight Street from Ashbury with 2 mainicas that had apparently timed the lights so you didn't have to stop until you reached the bottom ... even in traffic.

One of them did spend 8 month in physical therapy after a light wasn't quite timed right though...

I've been skatin' for something on the wrong side of 30 years. I have a dozen or more boards I still ride.

My favorite plank these days is a Bulldog [Wes Humpston signed] 'Gashead' deck, with Trackers and BDS dubcons with Rocket Rons. The local kids don't know what to think of [an aging] gaspipe at the skatepark carving it up on the longboard on the ramps.

Someday, I'll grow up, but it'll likely be when they start throwing dirt in the hole.

Gator - isn't that the skater who murdered his girlfriend? If I remember correctly they were both in the Tom Petty 'free fallin' video??

I never heard, that deck carries Mark Rogowskis name (who I never heard of)
And there is still a Gator on the market in the "old school"shop.
