Parts cleaner
What is the best stuff to clean parts with. I have found either it doesn't do nothing or is so caustic it eats up aluminum or paint. I have posted this here because you can't own an old bike and ride it unless you work on it.
Thanks in advance

There's been few threads on this here so do a search. On my airheads some parts that easily remove, I've had bead blasted. Not perfect but looks pretty good. When it's a part that doesn't come off easily, I've used a citrus cleaner that I've bought in bicycle shops and green scotchbrite pads. I sometimes have to go over it a number of of times but it works and does start to bring back the very unigue original look of airhead aluminum castings. JT

The whole bike?? Simple green cut a little more that 2 to1. Greasy parts? I like mineral spirits.

Depends what you are cleaning. Castrol makes a good degreaser/cleaner, and Simple Green is good stuff and reasonably priced.

Don't forget to use the car wash if the bike drives, be careful to keep the spray away from stickers though.
