Nope I don't know you. I have only been home a few times since 2000. I may bump into you some day. I'll retire in 11 years. I'll still hopefully be riding the same KLR I have now.

I guess it depends on where you are sitting. When I was your age I was club racing on a KZ1000R1(fully tweeked) in Califorina, Fred Merkel and Eddie Lawson were gods and I never thought I would live this long, but I am still 15 years from collecting socialist security.

I guess old is reletive. I am still riding a bike and tring to chase down sport bikes on twisty mountain roads on a Kaw, I just switched from a KZ to a KLR. I just don't push it as hard as I use to and I like disapearing in the backcounrty for days to chase game or trout more than I did when I was younger.

That is one sharp looking KLR. Doesn't sound like you are slowing down one bit. Still living life... just being smarter about it now. I think that your taste just got better is all. North Georgia is a great place(my favorite) and it sounds like you like doing the things I can only dream about doing while being stuck down here in Mobile. I am sure you can ride circles around me too. I am still in the learning phase with only a little under 12k on my odo. Getting better though I have not fallen in a while... pure luck though of course. Are you thinking about heading over to TDP?

indiana b.

your bike's colors look nice, I have the same year and wonder how it would look if I painted it all black except for the tank and leave it as is.

congrats it looks nice

Here we go again...

It's a KLR-Davidson I guess...
Who says ASVs don't bend, thanks for the warranty...
The disadvantage of stronger shifters...
Footpegs, once again...

Decision has been made! KLR never goes off road again, Period!

Well...

We were riding here:

And here:

And even here:

And then I fell over. Peg broke off, shifter made contact with a nice rock, and realized that the rock wouldn't give so it decided to go the other way and found that the stator cover would give. Looks like I needed an oil change anyway.
Bike is with my mechanic this morning, he assured me it could be fixed by wednesday, just in time to ride coast to coast and back in 4.5 days.

howd you get off the trail chip?

Sorry to see that happen, on a positive note. Your klr looks badass, I like the inverted forks.

Thanks.

If you can believe it, I fell over about 10 feet from the end of the trail. So I just rode it the 10 feet, pushed it to a parking lot. Rode bitch on a DR650 back to town (the first and last time on the back of a bike, honestly the most painful situation i've ever been in), called my loving, understanding, and smoking hot wife (she may be lurking) explaining what had happened. She brought my truck and you can figure out the rest.
