Nothing crazy. Went for a little local ride. Pics show trimmed handguards and new mirrors.

![]() Manitowish, Waters Wisc. The lodge on the lake where John Dillinger and his gang had the shootout with the feds and got away. They made part of the Johnny Depp movie there too. Still serve a great omlet! The .45 slugs messed up with the shitter upstairs in a bad way. Considering indoor plumbing was still a novelty, this must have pissed someone off....

New to ADVRider
Hi,
I have been lurking for awhile now, new to ADVRider this week. I've been reading BigDogs post on old bridges really neat stuff. Here is my KLR after some gravel/low maintenance road riding looking for an old bridge in Iowa. Stock except for cheap tires, AGM battery, LED lighting everywhere, stock headlight for now, and new grips. ![]() The bridge was gone but the water crossing was not a problem. ![]() Took this one after crossing. Neat pic with about an hour of sun left. ![]() Thanks! |

The "08 & newer look a little bulky & too streety to me. The KLR is already a heavy pig so I don't want it to LOOK heavy as well. If I ever get an "08 or newer, Ill drop the front body work & go with some kind of custom set up. I know some guys like the new look & that's fine. What looks good in a bike is simply a matter of opinion & it was the "look" of the pre '08 KLR that got me to pick it over a DR or XL 650. |
