I cut up some carpet & sewed it to make a "sleave" for my tank, so my opossum can get some grip with her claws.

"Godzilla" in his natural territory.

Up the creek without a paddle, KLR don't need no paddle.

The little known "skull on fender" up grade that adds 24 H.P. to the KLR.

The opossum & I.... In the wind. She gets excited when she see's me walk up to her with the harness cuz I only use it when it's time to ride.

Had a great weekend of camping and riding with the ADV crowd here in the North East. We have a little "rally" based around the open house BBQ at White Horse Gear in North Conway, NH. WHACO ride....

My trusty KLR loaded for bear...I hate to go without

My riding partners for most trips...yea they got the cool kid 800's but I have the KLR

Set up at camp...I think about 24 showed up on the first night

Had a great rip around the White Mountains on Friday afternoon. Then we hit the open house on Saturday morning. After the BBQ we headed for North Western mass for a couple of days of riding back roads and trails. A local inmate led a group of 8 of us on an excellent day of riding twisty back roads, dirt roads and a bunch of un-maintained town roads.

all in all we only averaged about 200 miles a day but the riding was a great mix of back roads and dirt. Just right for dual sporting..

I almost made it home, but about 45 minutes while flying through some very rough local back roads my upper sub frame bolts broke while heading into a corner at speed... what a funny feeling to have the seat drop a few inches, felt like the bike broke in half...

So I had to take the ride of shame home in the truck...thanks to my wife for coming to save me..again

Looks like I have some repairs to do

Where do you attach the harness?

In the first photo you can see the end of the leash around my right arm. The leash goes from her harness, over my left shoulder & onto my right arm.

She fell off for the first time the day this pic was taken but, I was only making a slow U-turn. she dangeled with her rear legs about six inches from the road. I'm going to shorten the leash cuz at speed she could posibly fly back into the chain & sprocket.

She's usually very sure footed on the bike & I usually keep it at 40 mph or under, as the wind at 50 plus seems to irritate her ears. I live out in the sticks so I can keep to back roads & go for MILES at a casual pace. She's probably got at least 400 miles of riding time now. I don't take her every time I go riding cuz I like to go a little faster than she does.

I think those panniers...

are the nicest looking set of hard panniers that I've ever seen on a KLR. Nicely set up bike

Yep, those are "doggles" alright. The green & black '06's are my favorites. I picked this one up for $3,500 w/3,200 miles on the clock. I was hoping to pick one up for under 3 G's but she was so pretty & almost new, I don't regret it. The '00's in Marine Corps green (my first KLR) are my second favorite.
