It is on the large side. I use the bike a lot for commuting . Nice to have room for the quart of milk, loaf of bread, bottle of soda, chicken dinner for four etc etc. Seahorse (Pelican clone) waterproof.

Oh wait. I have a KLR with a KLR roundel on it! OOPS!

It's right under the turn signal. :::GRIN:::

I like the tool tube on the front guard idea. I had to remove my tube that was mounted on the bash plate cuz it would get smacked around and bent everytime I dropped the bike offroad.

It's actually mounted to both the highway peg/engine guard AND the skid plate.
I bolted it on with these
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cramik-En...0#.Uj9B_iimfss

Very strong and easily painted.

When I had a get off last year, the highway peg/engine guard bent as did the pipe clips, but they didn't break off.
Bent them back, repainted them and mounted them to the new highway peg/engine guard.
I've seen the straps that others have used, simply break. They just aren't strong enough.
And with all the holes in them for tightening the strap up, there is less metal for strength.

Thanks for the info! I made an old small sized video cam case into a tools/first aid/tube/uhf radio box and mounted it on the back tray

How are you shearing the bolts? Did you drill holes and use nuts and bolts, did you use the existing well nuts, or are you just driving self tapping screws through?
I'd like to see more pics of this bike. Very cool.
