Went out for a little ride yesterday up in the mountains and on the way down I started to hear a metal rattling sound coming from the right side engine case. Stopped at a gas station to check it out and noticed I'd lost a bolt holding a muffler bracket. So in true KLR style I went in the gas station, got the attendant to give me a metal coat hanger and wired her up for the ride home!

The KLR250 is 20 plus year old tech but it's still a very capable little machine. It's not a WR250R but I really like mine.

Damn Doo'hickeys

Did three today 2 good one bad and one did not make it because he motor granaded due to timing getting thrown out. What might cause that?

Here is a side by side of a good and a bad

Me on the second go around because my doo was rubbing against the rotor..long story don't ask....all is better now.

Story?
I just happened to wander into a shop I had never been in before and asked if they had any inexpensive dual sports. This was on consignment and I had to have it because it has only 2400 miles and is showroom clean. I wanted this model when I was a senior in high school and have it now! In a few months I'll take it from NJ to New Orleans on backroads with my friend on a TW200. We'll be doing Tail Of The Dragon and also going to Memphis so I'm super excited. Rode it the first time yesterday and it can easily do 65mph without breaking a sweat! Very nimble also.
