1967 Seiko Sportsmatic - 45 years old - looks great and keeps great time. Looks even better in person with the metallic graphite dial and chrome markers. I will take this over a Civic anyday...

havent worn a watch regularly for years - I have a crap polar heart rate watch for when I am travelling.

Looking at this thread again made me make some enquires about getting my 1976 Seiko 6101-8310 (or some number like that) services - less than AUD$200 - but I think that might go up when the guy actually gets to see it.

Even then i wouldn't wear it much but it would be more pleasant to wear than the crappy digital.

If anyone wants to hear about my rant on the Polar - just ask....

Having lived in Switzerland the last 2.5 years, I find myself unable to look at watches in the mall yet unable to afford the watches I like. Right now, I'm drooling over various versions of the Clerc Hydroscaph. Yes, I could go buy it but I might have to explain the drop in our down payment fund to someone.

no matter where it's sold, i can appreciate good engineering; even more if it's a clean design.

That us an elegant looking watch, I am not usually a fan of dress watches, but I would wear that.

It's not a watch but I'm thinking of wearing it around my neck

This is my watches, I like the citizen eco-drive Nato style, hard, elegance and slim.

Another watches:
Suunto Vector, for mountain and anothers outdoor activities.
TW Steel, this only for pretty.
Tendence, a fashion victim watch, but I like too.
The pink casio isn´t mine, My wife put it into the box.

I'm sorry...I spent all my money on bikes and trucks...so all I can afford are mall watches. But if you've got something with a little more "imagination"...feel free to share.

Personally speaking, though...I draw a line between an Auto Seiko, a TAG with a Dubois-Depraz designed chrono module, a Citizen Eco, or a Rollie over what I'd consider "mall fodder, like Fossil, or Michael Kors, or something like that.

Actually you won't find authorized Rolex dealers in every shopping mall in the country.

What's your idea of cool, twinkletoes?

There are a lot of independent boutique watches being sold in small batches exclusively on the internet that are hand crafted by a dedicated few.

And guess what? Many of them are "homages" (read: imitations) of your so-called mall watches.

Yes, the mall watches must be really uncool when some of the most knowledgeable watch enthusiasts in the country are using them as templates.

To wit:

Just to highlight a few.

Oh please they're making fakes. none of those watches are worth anything. any real Seiko is a better than any of those you posted.
