One of the problems with the internet, living in the sticks, I never even knew stuff like this existed! At least it never made it to our town.

Talk about set it and forget it...unless you travel you only have to set it twice a year, when DST changes!

I'm not quite ready to set my sights that high. And I like the GMT with the lume, cause I have to be able to see the time in the dark - I have no bedside clock...

But I'm envious of your good fortune! Enjoy it. I'm sure I'd spend a week just watching that second hand.

Mine says 4....

Well, IIRC, both are technically correct but I think only clocks still use that - no one would write a complex roman numeral using IIII, it would be confusing as it's not standard, you don't do XXXX for 40.

No, it's still a long and honored tradition in watch dials. You can read some professional opinions and hypotheses here.

Awww, Jarvis, that's a beaut!

Right now, I'm on the lookout for a cheap, vintage GMT. I just want that extra hand. And it's handy during the yearly Dakar coverage in Racing. This year, I wore my dad's '80s Seiko ana/digi with the digital display set to Chile time.
